The transfer window is due to close tonight, but there are a number of players who are available as free agents, which means clubs can still sign them after deadline day.
KickOff.com looks at 10 players who are available to clubs looking to bolster their sides beyond the transfer window.
The veteran defender was released by SuperSport United at the end of last season. Not much has been said about Mashamaite since his departure from Matsatsantsa. He can add value with his experience.
The former Orlando Pirates defender is on the market after he parted ways with Cape Town City at the end of June. At 27, Gumede still has a lot to offer.
He spent the whole of last season away from the Ajax Cape Town first team, before his stay ended a few months ago. Graham is a midfield workhorse whose services many clubs could do with.
Gaxa left Ajax after spending just one season with the Urban Warriors. The former Bafana Bafana full-back is busy with his studies and could be taking a bit of a break from the game to focus on obtaining his qualification.
He ended a successful spell with Kaizer Chiefs at the end of last season. It was reported that he was on trial with Maritzburg United, but the player came out to say that it’s not true. He is another who would add a lot of experience if signed.
Chiefs recently had the player on trial and they have not come out to say whether or not they are signing him. Mashaba has been inactive since leaving Mamelodi Sundowns halfway through last season. He is a versatile player.
The former Orlando Pirates and Bidvest Wits midfielder did not relocate to Cape Town with Platinum Stars, who are now known as Cape Umoya United in the National First Division.
It’s been a mission for Gcaba to find a club, having been on trial with newcomers Black Leopards and Highlands Park. Both clubs turned down the chance to sign him and he must now continue with his search for a new home. He gives the option of being used as a centre-back or left-back.
Rantie’s spell in Turkey came to an end and he is said to be back in South Africa. Cape Town City and Mamelodi Sundowns have been linked with the player, but nothing has materialised. Rantie has lots of pace and, on a good day, can cause problems for the opposition.
His career has gone backwards and he now needs to find a club to revive it. Masango was previously linked with a move to Cape Town City, but his demands were apparently too high.
Others on the free-agent market: Steve Hoffman, Erwin Isaacs, Tendai Ndoro, Camaldine Abraw, Sibusiso Masina, Thanduyise Khuboni, Sifiso Myeni.
