Manchester United's Paul Pogba 'would make us happy' claims FC Barcelona's Gerrard Pique

Manchester United club-record signing Paul Pogba would be welcomed to FC Barcelona, claims former Red Devils man Gerard Pique.

Pogba, 25, has strongly been linked with a move to Camp Nou during the off-season after reported fallouts with manager Jose Mourinho.

Despite being handed the captain's armband this season in the absence of Antonio Valencia, the 2018 World Cup-winner has been accused of lacking the desire to become an iconic figure at Old Trafford.

But this hasn't stopped Pique from recognising the influence the former Juventus midfielder can have with the Blaugrana.

"I'm not too aware of what's going on with them, Pogba is a great player and he's there," Pique told Marca.

"We'll see if he changes clubs in the future, it would be nice if he came and would make us happy in the future.

"But we have to respect a player who is at Manchester United. "
