Ex-Mamelodi Sundowns striker Mama Niang comes out of retirement to rejoin University of Pretoria

Senegalese striker Mame Niang has signed a one-year contract with University of Pretoria less than a month after announcing his retirement.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns and SuperSport United hitman had a brief stint at Royal Eagles last term before reportedly calling it quits.

However, AmaTuks team manager Khatho Mbanda has confirmed the National First Division side have re-signed the 34-year-old, who lead the line at the club for six months in 2017.

"Ja, we've just signed him," Mbanda tells KickOff.com.

"He's been training with us for a while, and we've signed him for a season. It happened last week already.

"We are just waiting for his work permit."

Tuks have drawn their opening two games of the season, and next visit Real Kings on Saturday.

Ex-Ajax Cape Town forward Nathan Paulse also recently came out of retirement to link up with Cape Umoya United in the second tier.
