Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas has offered insight into what new signing Andriamirado 'Dax' Andrianarimanana brings to the table.
The Madagascar midfielder, who impressed Chiefs at the COSAFA Cup in Polokwane held in May/June, is awaiting his work permit following his off-season capture from Fosa Juniors.
The transfer took some time to complete after Fosa initially blocked the move claiming Andrianarimanana still had a contract with them.
Solinas expects the 27-year-old to be a busy presence in the Amakhosi engine room, which includes Siphelele Ntshangase, George Maluleka and Willard Katsande amongst others.
"Dax is a midfielder," Solinas said.
"He is a box-to-box midfielder. He plays the same position as Ntshangase.
"He plays the same position he plays in the national team.
"When the club scouted him [it was] because of his ability of playing as a box-to-box midfielder.
"He can play both defensively and offensively.
"We are waiting for his papers," confirmed the Italian.
Solinas joked he has a hard time pronouncing Dax's full name.
"I can't because it's a big name, it's a big surname. It's unbelievable.
"I said to him, I call you Adriana or Dax. Because if I [call] your name and surname the game will be finished."
The Glamour Boys, who drew 2-2 with SuperSport United in the first leg of their MTN8 semi-final on Sunday, next host joint-log leaders Bloemfontein Celtic at FNB Stadium on Wednesday.
