Salah urged to reject Real move

Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has been urged to remain in the Premier League by a former Real Madrid striker and Ballon d'Or winner.

Salah, 25, scored 44 goals across all competitions in his debut campaign with the Reds to see them finish in fourth place in the league and reach the final of the UEFA Champions League.

His goal-scoring exploits saw him smash the Premier League goalscoring record by netting 32 times in the English top-flight, which subsequently saw him walk away with the PFA Player of the Year award and BBC African Player of the Year.

This impressive form saw him challenge Lionel Messi for the European Golden Shoe for most of last season and within the new campaign the Egyptian has already scored twice and registered two assists in as many games.

And former Reds and Los Blancos striker Michael Owen, who won the Ballon d'Or back in 2001, hopes the UEFA Men's Player of the Year nominee for 2018 remains at Anfield.

"I hope he doesn't join Real Madrid," Owen told Pyramids TV. "I see that Salah is happy at Liverpool, which is one of the best clubs in Europe. He renewed his contract and I hope he doesn't join another team.

"I want his last stop to be Liverpool."
