KickOff.com can confirm that AmaZulu have completed the signing of Bongi Ntuli on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns.
On the weekend Usuthu announced Ntuli would start training with the Durban side as the clubs thrashed out the terms of a move.
This website has since been informed that the 27-year-old has put pen to paper on a deal that will run until the end of the season.
“The deal is done with Bongi Ntuli and he’s coming on loan,” a source says.
This will be the second time that Sundowns have loaned Ntuli to AmaZulu. They first did so in the second half of the 2014/15 season, when he joined alongside Asive Langwe, Mbulelo Mabizela and Roscoe Pietersen to bolster the then-ailing club.
He scored six goals in 13 appearances and in the process demoted former Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs striker Bongani Ndulula to a spot on the bench when Steve Barker was in charge of the side. However, his efforts weren’t enough as at the end of the season the club were relegated.
AmaZulu’s signing of Ntuli will offset the departure of Rhulani Manzini, who has reportedly rejoined Chippa United on a permanent deal after spending one season with the KwaZulu-Natal outfit.
Ntuli, who only made three substitute appearances for Downs after joining them from Golden Arrows in 2014, previously worked with AmaZulu coach Cavin Johnson at Platinum Stars. Ntuli spent the past three years on loan at Dikwena, who are now called Cape Umoya United.
The Pietermaritzburg-born player will compete for the centre-forward role with Mabhuti Khenyeza, Siyabonga Nomvethe, Mhlengi Cele and Emiliano Tade at Usuthu.
