Chelsea maintained their winning start to the season at Newcastle United, while Fulham and Burnley were involved in a six-goal thriller at Craven Cottage.

Newcastle United 1-2 Chelsea

Chelsea's perfect start to the season continued after they defeated Newcastle United 2-1 at St Jame's Park.

The Blues were awarded a penalty in the 76th minute when Marcus Alonso was brought down in the box. Eden Hazard stepped up and made no mistake from 12-yards out.

Newcastle restored parity with seven minutes remaining, with substitute Joselu heading home at the near post, before Chelsea secured the win thanks to an own from Deandre Yedlin.

Watford 2-1 Crystal Palace

Watford registered their third successive win of the season after defeating Crystal Palace 2-1 at Vicarage Road.

After a quiet first half, Roberto Pereya put the home side on 53 minutes before Jose Holebas doubled the advantage with a speculative effort.

Wilfried Zaha pulled goal for Palace in the 78th minute but the Hornets held on for three points.

Fulham 4-2 Burnley

Fulham registered their first win of the season with a 4-2 victory over winless Burnley.

Jean Seri opened the scoring after just four minutes with a thumping finish before Jeff Hendrick levelled matters in the 10th minute.

Aleksander Mitrovic netted a quick-fire brace to put Fulham 3-1, while John Tarkowsi reduced the deficit just before the break.

The victory was wrapped up for Fulham in the 83rd minute with Andre Schurrle netting his first for the club.
