Amakhosi have yet to register a victory in the Absa Premiership, but have made it through to the MTN8 semi-finals after an emphatic 3-0 win over Free State Stars, proving how the team are blowing hot and cold.

With the club’s three-year drought hanging over his head as supporters expect immediate returns in his first season, Solinas has little time to try and ‘build’ a team to deliver success.

However, aware of his responsibility to appease the demands from the stands, the Italian coach has admitted he will need to address their inconsistency with some urgency.

“We need more consistency because Kaizer Chiefs is a big club, so we need to be consistent with our results,” said Solinas.

“We are competing to win the league so we need more consistency, yes. Up and down, up and down is no good for Kaizer Chiefs because it’s a big club with big history.

“If we are going to compete for trophies then, yes, we do need more consistency.”

Chiefs will be hoping to put their league disappointment behind them as they turn their focus to the cup semi-finals this weekend, when they visit SuperSport United at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
