Highlands Park are currently assessing the option of signing former Orlando Pirates duo Ayanda Gcaba and Tendai Ndoro.

KickOff.com has reliably been informed that The Lions of the North are currently exploring the option of adding the experience of Gcaba and Ndoro to their squad for the 2018/19 season.

The pair are currently free agents, with the 32-year-old defender having been released by the Buccaneers following his loan spell with Platinum Stars last season, while the 30-year-old striker parted ways with Ajax Cape Town in June.

Highlands head coach Owen da Gama on Monday confirmed that both players are currently training under his watch.

"Ja, we are looking at them. Gcaba came last week, and Ndoro just joined us the day before yesterday [Saturday]," Da Gama tells this website.

"First and foremost is whether they will be affordable. Larry (director, Brookstone) is currently talking to their agents but nothing has been finalised."

The Tembisa-based outfit are preparing for a visit to reigning Absa Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns at Loftus Versfeld on Wednesday evening (19h30).
