Kylian Mbappe came off the bench to net a brace as Paris Saint-Germain defeated Guingamp 3-1 in Ligue 1 on Saturday evening.
Angel Di Maria came close to grabbing the lead for PSG in the fifth minute with a strike from just inside the box but his effort shaved the outside of the upright.
Gianluigi Buffon made a world class save in the 15th minute for the Parisians to deny Nolan Roux the opener from a beautiful curler.
Five minutes later, Roux could not be denied as he grabbed the lead for the hosts after a mistake at the back, 1-0.
Nicolas Benezet had the ball in the back of the net for Guingamp in the 26th minute but it was ruled out following a VAR consultation for a push leading up to the header inside the box.
The pace of the match slowed down towards the end of half , with Guingamp comfortable at the back .
PSG manager Thomas Tuchel brought in World Cup winner Mbappe immediately after the break with Timothy Weah making way.
The Parisians were awarded a penalty eight minutes into the second stanza and Neymar made no mistake from the spot to make it 1-1.
Di Maria was unlucky ten minutes before time for Tuchel’s charges as his header following a cross from Neymar crashed against the post.
Two minutes later, Mbappe eventually made it 2-1 for PSG, timing his run to perfection to net with a low shot following a through ball from Di Maria.
Mbappe sealed the match in the last minute of regulation time with an impressive finish after exchanging passes with Neymar inside the box.
