Highlands Park striker Peter Shalulile says he expects to be out for another month from an ankle injury he sustained in the final match of last season against Stellenbosch FC.
The Namibian scored 15 goals in 30 games in all competitions for the NFD champions in 2017/18 to share the Golden Boot with Black Leopards’ Mwape Musonda.
"I'm still injured. I don't know, maybe another month or so," Shalulile tells KickOff.com.
"It was really bad [the injury], too much. I got it in the last game against Stellenbosch."
The 25-year-old says although he is missing the action, he is happy to see his teammates start their Absa Premiership campaign with draws against Orlando Pirates and Leopards.
"At least they are doing well you know. As a player you will always feel bad about not being part of the action but you must try to be positive for the team to do well. These days I spend my time here at the gym at least doing some work."
Highlands co-director Brad Kaftel hopes to soon have Shalulile at the club’s disposal again.
"I'm not up to date with it but I think he must be back in about two or three weeks. He's been injured, ja. He was injured in the last season but he is back. I could say he has still got another couple of weeks before he is back. I think it was an ankle," Kaftel adds.
