Cristiano Ronaldo to make Serie A debut against Cheivo confirms Juventus' Massimo Allegri

Juventus head coach Massimo Allegri has confirmed club-record signing Cristiano Ronaldo will make his Serie A debut tomorrow.

Ronaldo, 33, became the most expensive signing ever made over the age of 30 when he signed for €100m (R1.7B) from Real Madrid last month.

His participation in tomorrow's league opener was in doubt due to his late arrival with the rest of the squad after the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

But Allegri has since confirmed he will feature tomorrow.

"Cristiano Ronaldo will make his Serie A debut for us tomorrow," Allegri said on in the pre-match press conference.

"Confirmed starters are Cristiano, [Wojciech] Szczesny, [Giorgio] Chiellini, [Miralem] Pjanic, [Joao] Cancelo and Alex Sandro.

"Cristiano is no ordinary footballer. His career statistics are testament to that. He brings added value to our team, but we must not rest on our laurels and believe that we'll win games just because we have him on our side.

"This is my fifth season at Juventus and I'm very happy here. I enjoy an excellent relationship with the club. The squad had improved a lot, as has our self-confidence in Europe."
