Sundowns recently loaned the 20-year-old attacker, who shone in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge in 2017, to Maritzburg as part of the deal to bring Lebohang Maboe to Chloorkop.

Makgalwa scored his first PSL goal for United in a 2-1 league loss to Free State Stars last week, while he made his first topflight start in the 1-0 MTN8 semi-final defeat to Cape Town City at Harry Gwala Stadium on Sunday.

He will hope to follow in the footsteps of Percy Tau, Keagan Dolly and Motjeka Madisha, who all impressed on loan spells before breaking through on their return to the Brazilians.

"Obviously I’m hungry to also showcase my talent," Makgalwa said.

"I came here to get game-time, to work hard and go back to my team. I’m feeling better.

"Now is the time to remain together in this situation," he added referring to Maritzburg's three straight losses in 2018/19.

"So I’m really looking forward to play again against Kaizer Chiefs [tonight at home] with all our heart and the same spirit."

He is confident he will click with Maritzburg's young stars such as Siphesihle Ndlovu.

"Obviously I played against them in the MultiChoice [a few seasons ago]. Some of them we played in the national team.

"The relationship is good because we are used to each other. I think I’ll gel well in the team.”
