Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos on life without Cristiano Ronaldo and recent 'family' jibe

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos says the club won't stop winning just because Cristiano Ronaldo has left the club.

The club captain spoke ahead of the European Super Cup against Atlético Madrid tonight.

"It's a privilege every time you play in a European Super Cup. It's a good sign and winning three Champions League, this is the prize. We have a chance to win another title and we are excited about the challenge," he told reporters, as quoted by Marca.

Ramos went on to discuss the recent comments of club-record goalscorer Cristiano Ronaldo, whose absence has been a notable talking point in the build-up to the fixture.

The Juventus new-boy claimed his new side is more 'like a family', which he enjoyed upon his arrival.

"Here we have always felt like a family. The key to success is that we have always been, and with him, we felt part of that family. The loss of such an important player is negative but that will not stop us from winning.

"In the past, top players have passed through here and we always keep winning. He will have to leave us to it and Real Madrid will keep going forward, whatever happens, we won't stop winning. He decided to make the change and I hope that it goes well for him and for us.

"The loss of Cristiano is important, but not player can be above this club and badge."
