Cape Town City captain Thamsanqa Mkhize is unsure if he will be cleared for Saturday's league game with Golden Arrows at Cape Town Stadium due to a head injury.
Mkhize sustained a bad cut above his eye following a heavy collision with Maritzburg United left-back Thato Thlone in City's 1-0 MTN8 victory at Harry Gwala Stadium this past Sunday.
The Bafana Bafana right-back received lengthy treatment on the field before being taken to hospital in Pietermaritzburg where he was given seven stitches.
"I'm getting better and I'm back in Cape Town now," Mkhize tells KickOff.com.
"But I'm fine now. Regarding the game against Golden Arrows on Saturday, I'll have to hear from the doctors."
Citizens striker Siphelele Mthembu was likewise forced off the park against Maritzburg following a challenge by Rushine De Reuck - a tackle which raised the ire of visiting coach Benni McCarthy.
Besides Mkhize and Mthembu, City also have fitness concerns with Teko Modise, Kwanda Mngonyama and Edmilson Dove, who all missed the Team of Choice encounter.
However, left-back Ebrahim Seedat is back in contention.
