Solinas affords Baroka respect

Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas has admitted temptation over possibly rotating his team, but is wary of underestimating Baroka.
Chiefs are set to run out for their fourth game in nine days when they take on Bakgaga in an Absa Premiership clash at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday evening.
After a draw with defending league champions Mamelodi Sundowns, defeat to Bidvest Wits and a victory over Free State Stars in the MTN8, Amakhosi’s new coach is left to carefully ponder his moves as pressure begins to mount with each game.
While the comprehensive win over Ea Lla Koto will undoubtedly provide some momentum, Solinas is contemplating rotation as he is already forced into two changes with goalkeeper Virgil Vries and defender Joseph Molangoane ruled out through injury.
“In this league, for me there’s no easy game. In this league every game is a battle, every game is difficult and there’s no easy opponent,” defended Solinas.
“It’s not possible to underestimate your opponent. Baroka is a good team, and in the last game they won 2-1 against Cape Town City, who’s a strong team.
“They also have a big advantage because they never played, they rested [over the weekend] so they come into the match fresh, which is a big advantage.
“We also have to travel and have no time to recover, so I have only two days to check my players and my team to make the decision [on who’s ready to play]. Maybe we need a little bit of rotation and refreshment in the team, I don’t know.”
The former Stars coach refuses to read much into the Limpopo-based outfit's relegation struggles last season, and insists that no game is easy, even for Chiefs.
“Me, I respect Baroka. No, we need to focus and go there and play with personality, a lot of concentration and not lose our idea,” he added.
“But it’s going to be a tough game. Every game is a tough game because you saw last season – the difference between the top team and teams fighting relegation was not too much.
“What does this mean? It means there’s balance. This league is balanced. When the league is balanced, every game is an important game and it’s very tough. We need good preparation for every game.”
