Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane believes his team will get the best out of combative midfielder Andile Jali this season.

Jali looked assured in possession when he came on for the first time in front of Sundowns' home fans in a 2-0 MTN8 quarter-final win over Golden Arrows at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.

The former Orlando Pirates man was signed in the off-season after spending over four years in Belgium with KV Oostende.

"The experience is there, you can see it," Mosimane said of the 28-year-old Bafana Bafana star.

"The game attitude is there. He gets angry sometimes. He can put his foot in, which is good. That's what we want.

"We need the Bafana Bafana players to carry the team. But let him grow proper, don't write too much. Let's build his confidence.

"He is a good boy, that's why we brought him here. A good player. We need to get him to top shape. We are dealing with it.

"I think we will have the best 'AJ' of them all. He is quality, you can see."

Mosimane felt Jali added stability to the engine room when he replaced fellow recruit Lebohang Maboe in the 55th minute.

"The passes were much better. We managed the midfield well. We showed experience with Themba Zwane, Sibusiso Vilakazi and the captain Hlompho Kekana in the heart of the midfield.

"When we brought on Andile he brought stability. He showed that he is hungry. His hamstring is okay now."

Downs on Monday set off for Morocco to play a crucial CAF Champions League clash with African champions Wydad Casablanca on Friday.
