Kaizer Chiefs attacker Kabelo Mahlasela was inspired by calls from the stands for him to be fielded in the 3-1 league defeat to Bidvest Wits.
Mahlasela made his long-awaited Amakhosi debut as a 77th minute replacement for Colombian hitman Leonardo Castro against Wits at FNB Stadium on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old joined the Soweto giants in January from Bloemfontein Celtic but suffered a knee injury in his first training session at Naturena and missed the rest of 2017/18.
"It felt good to be called by the supporters because as a player I also want to play and help the team going forward," Mahlasela said.
"It was my first official game playing for the club so it felt very good. It played a huge role and it was a big boost for me.
"I think the supporters would not be calling for me if they didn't know what I can do on the field of play. I think it is a huge boost for me when the supporters call for me to be fielded."
Mahlasela believes the Glamour Boys must make better use of their opportunities in front of goal if they are to end an unprecedented three-year trophy drought.
"I think there is not much to be changed; the only thing that we need to do this season is to convert the chances that we create to score more goals, because you win games when you score goals."
The offensive midfielder will hope to make his first start for Chiefs when Giovanni Solinas's side host Free State Stars in the MTN8 quarter-finals at Soccer City on Saturday (18h00).
