Golden Arrows' on-loan defender Siyanda Zwane is relishing the chance to face his parent club Mamelodi Sundowns tomorrow in the MTN8 quarter-finals at Lucas Moripe Stadium (15h00).
Zwane has returned to Abafana Bes'thende for the season due to stern competition for game-time at Chloorkop.
Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane, who prefers Thapelo Morena and Anele Ngcongca as his options at right-back, also sent Zwane out to Ajax Cape Town midway through last term.
The 31-year-old Zwane made his name at Arrows, notably helping the club win the MTN8 in 2009 with a record 6-0 rout of Ajax in the final. Current Downs assistant coach Manqoba Mngqith was then in charge of the Durban-based outfit, which is now led by Clinton Larsen.
"It'll be a very nice game," said Zwane.
"It's always nice playing against your ... I wouldn't say my former team because I still have a contract with them," said Zwane, who has won six major trophies with the Brazilians in the past four years.
"But it is always nice playing with your former teammates. We are more like brothers but once we cross the white line it's work.
"It's exciting and the boys are very happy to play against Mamelodi Sundowns, it's motivating. There's no better motivation than that.
"It's not about money but it's about playing against the former African champions. So I look forward to that match."
