Orlando Pirates coach Micho Sredojevic has been impressed with the contribution made by new signing Vincent Pule.
Pule joined the Buccaneers from Bidvest Wits during the off-season, despite reports suggesting he had signed a pre-contract with Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs.
The left-footed player has done well in his first two Absa Premiership matches for the Buccaneers and was unfortunate not to get on the score sheet against Highlands Park last weekend, as his well-struck free-kick hit the crossbar in the first half.
There’s loads of competition on the wings at Pirates and Pule will be hoping his performances so far are good enough to convince the coaches to keep him in the starting line-up.
“At the moment when the season finished we patiently did our reports and in our reports we looked at a player who could fit our game model and style of play,” Micho said, ahead of the Buccaneers’ MTN8 opener against SuperSport United at Orlando Stadium on Saturday (20h30).
“I am happy that Vincent Pule has succeeded to reach the level that is required to to play the matches. But still there are so many things [to work on]. The biggest motivational factor is room for improvement and development
“This is something that he works on. I believe there’s still so many thing to come from his side.”
