Mamelodi Sundowns Themba Zwane determined to be more consistent this season

Posted: 9 August 2018 Time: 12:00

Could this be the season Themba Zwane scoops the big awards like his former teammates Khama Billiat and Percy Tau?

The Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder is certainly one of the best players in the PSL and has what it takes to put himself in line for the big individual awards, but he is the first to admit that he needs to be more consistent.

Zwane walked away with the man of the match award in Sundowns’ 2-0 victory over Polokwane City at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday and was one of the star performers in their 1-1 draw with Kaizer Chiefs at Loftus Stadium over the weekend.

What’s important for him now is to be more consistent, and to work on his decision making in the final third of the pitch. Getting on the score sheet a bit more will also help him to get recognised with individual awards at the end of the season.

“I need to work on consistency, that’s very important. I need to improve more in terms of finishing and making the right decisions. At Sundowns you need to be on a high in every game because there are a lot of quality players. You need to fight for your place,” the man known as “Mshishi” says.

“This season I want to work hard and play as many games as I can. It’s important that I improve, so I must stay focused and be humble.”
