The Chilli Boys suffered their second successive loss in the Absa Premiership after going down to the Soweto giants on Wednesday evening.

Malesela insists that he is still dealing with a new team, but is hopeful they will start to click soon.

“The one man they lost gave us an advantage but if it’s not going to work it’s not going to work,” Malesela told SuperSport TV.

“But we tried I hope this will encourage the boys to say look we can compete, this is a fairly new team so we’ll get it right slowly and slowly.”

Malesela made it clear that he still needs more time before his team can start to gel.

“I wouldn’t say I’m close [to getting the cohesive unit] but I have to work very fast to get it right. We just need to get the right combinations at the top, that would work for us but at the moment it’s dicey. We’re not sure who to play first and who to play as a substitute,” he continued.

“Inasmuch as you’d want to start well you also need a good bench. So we need to be careful, unfortunately we don’t have the luxury of having too many friendlies with quality teams [in PE] then that would be where we test different combinations and see the way forward,” he concluded.
