MTN8 fixtures to go ahead as AmaZulu court bid fails

Posted: 8 August 2018 Time: 14:34

This weekend's MTN8 fixtures are set to go ahead after the South Gauteng High Court dismissed AmaZulu's bid to interdict the competition.

Judge Denise Fischer today released her ruling relating to Usuthu's bid to have the MTN8 fixtures halted in their fight for reinstatement.

However, after hearing arguments from the Durban-based outfit as well as the Premier Soccer League, Judge Fischer has struck the case off the roll.

This means AmaZulu will have to accept their non-participation in the battle for R8-million rand, after Advocate William Mokhari's arbitration award ousted them from the top half of the table.

As a result of Ajax Cape Town's indiscretion related to Tendai Ndoro's eligibility, AmaZulu were replaced by SuperSport United, who gained three points in the saga.
