Kaizer Chiefs coach Giovanni Solinas refused to point fingers at individuals, and explained his team selection following their Absa Premiership defeat against Bidvest Wits.
Chiefs were outsmarted by The Clever Boys, who romped to a 3-1 victory at the FNB Stadium on Tuesday evening.
While supporters were naturally displeased with the performance in the team's first home game of the 2018/19 season, Solinas insisted it was merely a few errors that cost them the match, and all of these can still be attended to.
"We need to fix the mistakes, because in a football game there are always mistakes," explained Solinas after the match.
"We need to improve in our finishing because today, like against Sundowns, we created chances but didn't convert.
"We need to improve also in the defensive phase, but the mentality should be that we lose together and we win together."
Questions have been asked as to why he opted to start with the tried and tested in the likes of Siphiwe Tshabalala, Willard Katsande and Bernard Parker, but the Italian tactician defended that he named an unchanged line-up following their promising opening display against Mamelodi Sundowns last weekend.
"We played very well against Sundowns. The fans were very happy with the performance [and] the journalists said we played a good game," he argued.
"There's no reason for me to change [the line-up]. If I made changes and we lost the game, the first question from the journalists is, 'why did you change?' So this is football guys."
