Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana says they can be their own worst enemies

Mamelodi Sundowns captain Hlompho Kekana says they are the only ones who can destroy their Absa Premiership title chances this season.
Sundowns are determined to defend a league title for the first time under the tutelage of coach Pitso Mosimane and it won’t come easy, with the likes of Orlando Pirates, Kaizer Chiefs, Cape Town City and Bidvest Wits looking to get their hands on the biggest prize in South African football.
Kekana has stressed the importance of his side taking chances in front of goal, something which let them down recently in a defeat to AS Togo-Port in the CAF Champions League last month.
“It’s going to be an interesting one,” Kekana said.
“I would say our biggest challenge is ourselves. We can be wasteful at times and you cannot try to win the championship if you don’t score goals, so we are in the process of rectifying some of the things.
“We have lost two important players who have gone to other clubs and we want the new guys to fit in and show them how we play.”
After playing to a 1-1 draw in their first league match of the season over the weekend, the reigning champions will take on Polokwane City at Peter Mokaba Stadium tonight (19h30).
