Premier Soccer League official Professor Ronnie Schloss has dismissed suggestions that Thohoyandou Stadium is now ready to host Absa Premiership matches.
Last week Thulamela Local Municipality's sport manager Ronald Makhadi told KickOff.com that they made a favourable impression on the league regarding the upgrades at the venue in Venda.
But according to Schloss there is still a lot of work to be done before Black Leopards can entertain their rivals there.
"Well they have to finish building there, that's all," says Schloss.
"The construction work has to be completed. Ja look, what they are doing is gonna be good but it wasn't complete and that was the reason [it didn't pass an inspection].
"Well, there's a whole lot they were busy building ... they were busy building toilets, they were building entry points, exit points. There is a whole lot of stuff there ... paving. And until that's finished the stadium is not licenced."
Asked when the next inspection will be at the stadium, Schloss said that was up to the club.
"Look I would think the stadium is gonna be ready soon. We are waiting to see when they tell us it's ready. We waiting to hear from them."
Lioda Duvha started the season with a 1-0 win over neighbours Polokwane City at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday.
Leopards next visit fellow topflight newcomers Highlands Park on Thursday night.
