Kaizer Chiefs defender Daniel Cardoso has set his sights on claiming their first win of the season against Bidvest Wits.

Chiefs will host The Clever Boys at the FNB Stadium in their second Absa Premiership encounter of the new campaign on Tuesday evening.

Having claimed a point in their opening clash against Mamelodi Sundowns on the weekend, Amakhosi are now targeting maximum points in their first home match.

Cardoso, who put out a solid display against The Brazilians, is confident they can overcome the current log leaders with their positive approach under new coach Giovanni Solinas.

“We will go into the game with a positive mindset. We will be looking for the three points,” Cardoso told his club's website.

“It’s our first match at home and we want to do well. We are playing more attacking football and let’s hope that our positive approach will be awarded come [tonight].”

Reflecting on their performance on Saturday, the former Free State Stars centre-back believes they did well to hold the reigning league champions to a draw.

“We performed well, it was a good start to the season, achieving a point away against the reigning league champions. We dominated the game, playing with confidence,” he stated.

Kick-off at The Calabash is scheduled for 19h30. Tickets are on sale at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers outlets nationwide at R40 each.
