Businesswoman Sinki Leshabane is waiting on PSL approval following her bid to buy cash-strapped Bloemfontein Celtic.
She and fellow Free State-based businessman Dr Moeketsi Mosola are thought to be in partnership on the prospective deal.
The Absa Premiership club has struggled financially since losing MTN as a shirt sponsor at the end of last season, with reports persisting of non-payment of salaries and signing-on fees - prompting the South African Football Players' Union to enter the fray.
Max Tshabalala, who bought Celtic from Jimmy Augusti in 2014, applied for sequestration last week.
Contacted for comment, Leshabane told KickOff.com: “Is it possible to phone me on Friday so that I can confirm and give you the formal confirmation?
“You know how these things work, you need to wait for the final approval of the PSL because I’ve made my interest [known] in purchasing the club, and everything is in the hands of the PSL now,” added Leshaba, who already owns local ABC Motsepe League side Mangaung United.
Phunya Sele Sele started the season with a 2-0 win over Chippa United at Dr Molemela Stadium on Sunday.
