Orlando Pirates rope in French finishing expert Stéphane Adam

Posted: 1 August 2018 Time: 12:18

Orlando Pirates have enlisted the services of a 'finishing specialist' from France as they further beef up their technical team ahead of the 2018/19 season.

The Buccaneers on Wednesday confirmed the appointment of Frenchman Stéphane Adam as a replacement for former assistant coach Benson Mhlongo, who left to join newly promoted First Division side TS Sporting.

Adam played as a striker for clubs such as FC Metz, Amiens and Lille in his homeland, as well as Scottish Premiership outfit Heart of Midlothian FC before retiring in 2002.

According to a statement from Pirates, the 49-year-old 'specialist coach for finishing' arrives from a coaching stint at Lille, where current Bafana Bafana forward Lebo Mothiba plies his trade.

Bucs mentor Milutin Sredojevic's support staff also includes main assistant coach Rhulani Mokwena, goalkeeper coach Andrew Sparkes, head of performance Franck Plaine, and performance analysts Darian Wilken, Kyle Solomon and Michael Loftman.
