New AmaZulu striker Emiliano Tade is wary of placing undue pressure on himself by announcing a goals target for his first season in the PSL.
Usuthu have recruited the Argentine from Auckland City on a two-year deal with a one-year option to renew,
The 30-year-old, who left City as their record scorer with 107 goals in 162 appearances, won 23 trophies with the club since 2011, and was thrice the New Zealand league's top scorer.
And while ex-Mamelodi Sundowns forward Percy Tau and Polokwane City's Rodney Ramagalela shared the PSL Golden Boot award with a mere 11 goals apiece last season, Tade is mindful of managing expectations around his output this coming campaign.
“I don’t promise anything and I don’t have a target," Tade tells KickOff.com.
"For me I’ll take it as game by game. Whatever the team needs it won’t be only me who is going to step up, but so many players.
"But so far it has been great building relationships with the rest of the players.
"South Africans and Argentinians are very similar in the way that they relate to people, the relationships and the warmth we have. I feel at home in a lot of ways.”
Tade says he was familarising himself with Usuthu when he was still in New Zealand.
"Since I got in contact with the club I’ve been watching some of the games, clips, highlights. So I’m just getting to acclimatise myself,” he adds.
“I see this club is a traditional club and embodies a lot. I’m also willing to learn the Zulu kingdom (sic) ... obviously that is part of the adaptation.”
