Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has confirmed that Ivorian forward Yannick Zakri is leaving and will join a local team.
Zakri spent the second half of last season on loan to Ajax Cape Town and performed well for the Urban Warriors, despite them being relegated to the National First Division.
Zakri was signed from ASEC Mimosas after impressing Mosimane, but he was never really able to break into the team. He struggled to settle in and the club decided to loan him out in January, along with former Sundowns left-back Fares Hachi, to make space for foreign signings Jeremy Brockie and Gaston Sirino, who has been a sensation for the Chloorkop outfit.
Zakri is currently training on his own and is expected to complete a move to a club in the PSL this season.
“Zakri is joining a local team. There is an offer on the table,” Mosimane said.
Striker Bongi Ntuli is another player on his way out of Chloorkop after he received an offer overseas. He looks set to make a move to Sweden.
Mosimane, meanwhile, also confirmed that Keletso Makgalwa will be spending a season on loan to Ajax Cape Town.
“Keletso has joined Ajax on loan,” the former Bafana Bafana coach said.
