Togolese midfielder Dove Wome secures a move in Latvia

Posted: 27 July 2018 Time: 20:05

KickOff.com can reveal that former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates attacking midfielder Dove Wome has found a new home with FK Ventspils in Latvia.

Wome has been without a job since January after he parted ways with SuperSport United.

He also spent time with Orlando Pirates on loan from Matsatsantsa in the second half of the 2016/17 campaign. The Buccaneers had the option to buy the Togolese midfielder permanently, but they decided against a deal after the player struggled to make a mark in his short stay with them.

According to a source close to the player, Wome has signed a two-year deal with FK Ventspils.

“Dove Wome has signed in Latvia. He was unveiled by the club today,” said the source.

“It's a two-year deal with an option,” he added.

Ventspils have won six Latvian titles and seven Latvian cups. They were the first Latvian club to participate in a UEFA competition in 2009.
