Black Leopards coach Joel Masutha says winning the Limpopo Soccer Legacy Spectacular at Giyani Stadium on Sunday shows the club's pre-season preparations are on track.
Leopards, who used two teams on the day, didn't disappoint as tournament favourites on the weekend. They hammered ABC Motsepe League side Ndengeza FC 4-1 before beating NFD outfit Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila 1-0 in the final, with former TTM midfielder Lesedi Kapinga scoring the only goal.
In the other semi-final Baroka lost 4-3 to TTM via penalty shoot-outs after playing to a 0-0 draw.
"I think Lesedi Kapinga will be one of the shortest players in the league," an excited Masutha tells KickOff.com.
"The team is coming along good, it's alright. Winning this cup shows that our preparations are coming right, we are on the right track and even the new players are gelling nice with the other players. We had two Lesotho internationals Tumelo Khutlang and another one nicknamed 'Messi' although I have forgotten his full name. Last season he was playing in Poland. He wears jersey number 10 in the Lesotho national team. We were scouting in the COSAFA tournament.
"We are still going to work, we still got two weeks, we will push a lot. I want us to rely on the speed because we have no experience. So to make up for our lack of experience we must bring in speed because most PSL teams are playing slow. So we need to use speed for them to not expose us at the back."
Masutha say Lidoda Duvha are not yet done in the market.
"If we can get a centre-back, maybe also a goalkeeper we will be fine," he adds.
