Two local First Division rivals Mbombela United and newly promoted TS Sporting will also be facing off before the big fixture kicks off between the two Absa Premiership sides.

The official launch of the competition is set to take place on Monday, July 23 in Johannesburg, with further details still to be confirmed.

Chiefs have just come off a defeat to Mamelodi Sundowns in the inaugural Shell Helix Ultra Cup, which was played at the FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

City, meanwhile, played a behind-closed-doors friendly against another Soweto giant in Orlando Pirates at the Cape Town Stadium this past weekend.
