Paris Saint-Germian's Neymar on alleged record Real Madrid transfer as Cristiano Ronaldo replacement

Posted: 20 July 2018 Time: 14:30

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has finally broken silence over his alleged world-record transfer to Real Madrid as the direct replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo.

The Brazil international became the world's most expensive footballer last year after moving to PSG from Barcelona in a £200m (R3.5b) deal.

He won the domestic treble in his first season in France, scoring 19 league goals and providing 13 assists - and was subsequently shortlisted as the next Galactico.

"I'm staying. I'm staying in Paris," he told reporters, as quoted by Sky Sports. "I have a contract. Most of the speculation is made by the media.

"Everyone knows my objective, why I went to Paris. I want to have success with that club and I hope next season could be wonderful."
