Maritzburg United chairman Farook Kadodia says although the club have received plenty of offers for Lebohang Maboe they are not under pressure to sell one of their prized assets.
Maboe, who was named the Nedbank Cup Player of the Tournament and Most Promising Player in 2017/18, has been linked with the likes of Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns, while there is also believed to be interest from abroad in his services.
The 23-year-old is reportedly under contract at Maritzburg for a further two years, with Kadodia insisting they are in no rush to cash in on the midfielder.
"Look, obviously we do have offers we are looking at, but at the moment we will only talk on the whole deal once we finalise a deal first," Kadodia explains to KickOff.com.
"And we don't want to create speculations in the market about all the guys that have shown interest in the player, so we would like not to comment at this stage at the issue of Lebohang Maboe. We've been having a few offers, locally and abroad right? Like I said, I don't think it's fair to all the guys whom we received their offers to reveal who is interested on the player, who is interested in whatever ... I think once we come to finality with any of these teams we will make an announcement.
"Obviously the coach [Fadlu Davids] would like the player to play for another season. We are just exploring the situation to see how best we can come to some kind of deal if a deal arises that will make everybody happy. That's why I said to you we are not desperate to sell. Make no mistake, we are all behind the player and we believe that there might be a bright future for him. There is no desperation to sell, to make it clear."
