AmaZulu coach Cavin Johnson has clarified an earlier story on the club retaining former Kaizer Chiefs striker Camaldine Abraw.

KickOff.com this morning reported that Usuthu had exercised the one-year option on the Togolese forward's contract after his initial six-month deal had come to an end.

This was gathered from the club's website, where it was confirmed that veteran strikers Siyabonga Nomvethe and Mabhuti Khenyeza have been retained.

It further indicated that the duo will be facing competition from the likes of new signing Emiliano Tade, Rhulani Manzini and Abraw.

However, this has since been removed from the story on AmaZulu's official website, while Johnson has confirmed that the 27-year-old had in fact been released at the end of last season.
