France and Real Madrid's Raphaël Varane on 2018 FIFA World Cup triumph and UEFA Champions League

Posted: 16 July 2018 Time: 17:00

France defender Raphaël Varane has opened up about winning 16 major titles at the age of 25 after a teammate suggested he's 'completed the game' by winning the UEFA Champions League four times and the FIFA World Cup.

Varane, 25, has played 253 competitive games at club level and has 49 caps for France.

He has already played in 10 semi-finals [winning 9] and in 11 finals [winning 10] - with the only defeat coming in the Supercopa de España, while he was ruled out with injury for Euro 16.

And after lifting the World Cup, he admitted he can't fathom what he's achieved in such a short space of time with Los Blancos and Les Blues.

"[Ousmane] Dembele told me I've completed the game," Varane said after the game. "It's been a great season for me. I don't realise what I am living through. It is something enormous and fantastic.

"My career began spectacularly, and now at 25, I've won the World Cup. ... I have no words for what I feel. I hope this continues."
