SA Players Abroad: No luck in the USA

Posted: 16 July 2018 Time: 09:55

The four South Africans involved in action across two different clubs in the USA all endured disappointment, with both Houston Dash and Nashville suffering defeat.

Despite netting her first goal for Houston Dash midweek, Kgatlana again started on the bench, coming on for the last seven minutes as her side went down 3-1 to Portland Timbers. Mothlalo made her 14th appearance of the campaign, playing the full 90 minutes, while Van Wyk missed her first game of the season, remaining as an unused substitute on the bench after suffering a hamstring strain earlier in the week. The result leaves Dash seventh on the log after 17 games.

Nashville’s recent slump continued following a third loss in the last five games, as the USL side went down 1-0 to Charlotte Independence, as Moloto continued his ever-presence in the team with his 17th appearance of the campaign. The loss leaves Nashville in seventh place on the log after 17 games.
