National Under-20 left-back Sibusiso Mabiliso says Amajita need to make use of home advantage when they take on Malawi in their third and final 2019 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

Amajita, who beat Mozambique in the last round of qualifiers, host the Malawians in the first leg at Moruleng Stadium on Sunday (15h00). Amajita are determined to get a good result at home to put themselves in a strong position heading into the second leg.

The Cup of Nations will be played in Niger from February 24 to March 10.

“We are playin here at home and that means we are the ones with the home advantage in this first leg encounter. We need to go out there and give it our all and make sure that we do not lose in any of those two matches. We really want to qualify for the 2019 U-20 AFCON tournament,” said Mabiliso, who was a nominee for the Absa Premiership Young Player of the Season award this past campaign.

“The team has been doing well and there’s no need to put ourselves under pressure. We just need to go out there and perform like we’ve been doing so far.”

Qualifying for the Cup of Nations will give the team a chance to book themselves a spot at the World Cup. The top four teams of the tournament will qualify for the U-20 World Cup set to be played in Poland as CAF representatives.

“It has always been a dream of mine to represent my nation in the FIFA World Cup. Qualifying for this tournament gives us that an opportunity to fight for that. And that’s why I’m planning to give it my all in both legs.”
