SAFA's Dennis Mumble says Banyana have been paid for winning COSAFA Cup and AFCON qualification

SAFA CEO Dennis Mumble has confirmed the national women's team have finally been paid the money that was owed to them.

Desiree Ellis's Banyana Banyana squad had been waiting for bonuses promised to them after their COSAFA Cup triumph in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe in September 2017.

According to reports, Ellis's charges were also awaiting payment for successfully qualifying for the Women's African Nations Cup with a 7-0 aggregate rout of Lesotho last month.

"They have been paid and I think you must go and ask the players, they have been paid," Mumble said during the draw of the SAB League in Durban yesterday at Moses Mabhida Stadium.

"That's all I'm going to say about this, they have been paid."

When asked what was the hold up, Mumble responded: "I don't want to be responding to the rumours about this and rumours about that."
