National Under-17 coach Molefi Ntseki believes he has got enough experience in his squad to go all the way in the upcoming COSAFA Cup in Mauritius this month.
The competition kicks off on July 19 and Amajimbos have been drawn into Group B with Lesotho, Mozambique and defending champions Mozambique.
The team assembled for camp earlier this week and they have been hard at training preparing for the competition.
“We are all happy to be in camp because that’s where we belong, because as coaches and management of theU-17s we always enjoy being here. We are bringing a positive vibe into the lives of these boys,” Ntseki told SAFA media while in camp.
“What we’ve done with our programme is physical testing, which will give us an idea going into an intensive tournament like COSAFA. We did our physical testing and we will be coming up with a programme to address whatever area needs to be looked at. All the countries are looking forward to being champions, but we feel we stand a very good chance because we have the experience.
“We have been there before when these boys were 14 and 15 years old. So what’s important is for us to work very hard to get them to a higher level of mental strength so that they understand the pressure they are going to come up against in Mauritius.”
