Gonzalo Higuain reported move to Chelsea denied amidst Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus transfer talk

Posted: 5 July 2018 Time: 18:00

Gonzalo Higuain will not join Premier League side Chelsea but is excited over the possibility of reuniting with Cristiano Ronaldo at Juventus.

Reports in English press claimed Higuain agreed to make a move to the London club but his brother and agent, Nicolas, has denied the Argentina international is set to leave Turin.

The current club-record signing joined the club from Napoli in 2016 in a mammoth €90m (R1.4b) deal and has since scored 40 goals in 73 appearances.

"We are not in talks with Chelsea. He [Higuain] wants to respect his contract with Juventus," his agent told Sky Italia.

"It would be great to see Higuain and Cristiano Ronaldo playing together again."

Higuain and Ronaldo played together for Real Madrid from 2009 to 2013 and if the Portugal captain completes the sensational switch he is set to usurp the Juventus and Serie A record transfer.
