Baroka FC have explained why they have released striker Armand Gnanduillet just a few weeks after he was unveiled at a press conference in Polokwane.
Gnanduillet, who signed a two-year contract with a one-year option after last playing for Blackpool in England, had not even kicked a ball in an official game for Bakgaga and has now parted ways with the club.
Baroka CEO Morgan Mammila was excited when he announced the signing of the big Ivorian striker to KickOff.com back in May, saying they are expecting him to bang in the goals in the coming season.
“We were lacking a bit upfront, so I think he will help us big time. He has the experience and I believe he will do well,” he said at the time.
Contacted by KickOff.com this morning, Mammila said: “Yes, he has left. We have five foreign players.
“My plan was to get citizenship for Mpho Kgaswane [Botswana international] because his mother is from South Africa. But I think that will take time. He is going to Blackpool. He will come back in future because he has unfinished business here.”
Bakgaga, meanwhile, announced the signings of strikers Emmanuel Letlotlo and David Zulu as their shopping spree ahead of the new season continues.
