Jomo Cosmos boss Jomo Sono has promoted a 15-year-old offensive midfielder to the first team.

Zuko Gxabuza got the call-up from Sono after impressing in the National First Division outfit's youth structures.

Gxabuza featured prominently for Ezenkosi's U-17 side at the annual Future Champions International Soccer Tournament in March, having started out with Cosmos at U-13 level two years ago.

“Yes, we have signed the boy from our development, and we are hoping to make him an even better player in the shortest time possible,” Sono told his club's official website.

Sono, whose charges came up short in the promotional play-offs in 2017/18, has developed a number of stars over the years, including Bafana Bafana legends Mark Fish, Sizwe Motaung, Phil Masinga and Helman Mkhalele.
