Brazil superstar Neymar has blasted his detractors after receiving widespread criticism for his alleged play-acting in the FIFA World Cup victory over Mexico on Monday.
Neymar, 26, starred in the victory over El Tri with a goal and setting up a late second for Roberto Firmino.
However, an incident with winger Miguel Layun, which brought major criticism from the Mexican camp has riled up the world-record transfer holder to the extent of his latest outburst.
"Look, I think it's more of an attempt to undermine me than anything else," he told reporters after the 2-0 win.
"I don't care much for criticism, not even from the press because in a way this can influence athletes.
"The last two matches I didn't talk to the press because there's so many people talking."
Neymar went on to add that he's sole focus is helping the Selecao lift their record sixth World title.
"I just want to play and I help my team-mates, I have to help my team and that's what I am here for, nothing else.
"I am here to win and I hope I can improve."
