Devon Saal says he has matured and moved on after clashing with Maritzburg United coach Fadlu Davids prior to his exit at the club.
Maritzburg suspended Saal in November 2017 following a training ground bust-up with Davids.
The winger, who was frustrated with his lack of first team football at the time, was then loaned to Stellenbosch FC for the second half of the past season.
Saal is currently a free agent.
"There was a situation between me and the coach and I'm not going to dwell too much on it," Saal told KickOff.com when asked about the incident.
"It happened in training and it didn't end well. Having said that, I don't want to speak about Maritzburg. It's something that's history, it's a lesson that I've learnt."
Saal, who joined Maritzburg in 2016 when Ernst Middendorp held the coaching reins, added: "I'm more mature now, older. I'm more wiser and I think better prepared day by day."
The 26-year-old has just recovered from an injury and hopes to find a topflight team ahead of 2018/19.
"I'll prefer to go to a PSL team but I'm not going to rule out any move to a NFD club, because I haven't been playing much this past six months due to injury.
"But I've healed nicely and I would cherish playing for another PSL team."
