Bidvest Wits agree terms with Bloemfontein Celtic's Deon Hotto amid rival Free State Stars interest

Bidvest Wits have agreed terms with in-demand utility player Deon Hotto.

According to a source close to Wits, Hotto is poised to pen a three-year contract with the Students as a free agent after catching the eye at Bloemfontein Celtic last season.

Free State Stars were also chasing the services of the Namibia international, who can operate as a fullback or in an advanced role.

Hotto made 35 appearances in all competitions in his second year with Phunya Sele Sele in 2017/18.

"Only thing left is to put pen to paper otherwise it's a done deal," says the informant.

"Free State Stars also wanted him but he opted for a move to Gauteng," he adds of the ex-Golden Arrows man.

The Clever Boys last week confirmed the capture of Bantu Mzwakali, Mxolisi Macuphu and Brighton Mhlongo ahead of the new campaign.
