Black Leopards look set to rope in the services of former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Chris Matombo.

According to a source, the Limpopo-born player is training with the club after a brief playing stint in Malta.

Matombo, the younger brother of ex-Manning Rangers and Amaglug-glug international Nkipitheni, also previously had a spell at Chippa United.

"Chris is back in the country. He is currently training with Leopards," says the informant.

"Indications are that they would sign [him]."

Lidoda Duvha are also assessing Lesotho forward Tumelo Khutlang and an unnamed Cameroonian striker ahead of their campaign in the Absa Premiership in 2018/19.

Leopards, who are confident of gaining PSL approval to keep their home games at Thohoyandou Stadium, gained promotion via the play-offs after finishing as runners-up in the National First Division to Highlands Park.
