After a heavy 3-1 defeat on Saturday, Houston Dash took to the field on Wednesday night eager to bounce back quickly, and did just that, registering a come-from-behind 2-1 away victory over Orlando Pride with Sofia Huerta’s 83rd-minute penalty earning her side all three points. Van Wyk and Mothlalo both started the game, with both taken off late in the match after their side’s second goal had been scored, while Kgatlana remained an unused substitute on the bench. The result leaves Dash seventh on the log with 17 points after 14 games.
After picking up an injury in a 2-2 draw against Degerfors last month, Mayambela was named in the Brage squad for the first time since, sitting on the bench as his side took to the field against Halmstad in their Swedish Second Division league clash on Tuesday evening. He was introduced as a late substitute – his ninth appearance of the season – in added time as his side registered a 3-2 victory, leaving them sixth on the table after 14 games.
It’s been a week to forget for Moloto’s American club Nashville, who after exiting the US Open Cup following a 2-1 loss to Louisville City suffered defeat again on Wednesday evening in the league, going down 2-0 to Indy Eleven as they dropped to sixth on the USL Eastern Conference standings after 14 games. Moloto played the full 90 minutes, having played in all 14 games of the season so far.
